With the harsh winter months in full-swing, your skin is probably taking a beating right now! Winter is notorious for dry, cracked skin– which is not a good look on anyone. One way you can help your precious face survive the cold-weather conditions with minimal damage is switching up your routine! Keep in mind, what worked amazingly for you over the summer may not be the best winter plan. If you’re looking for a good moisturizing product to battle your winter blues, then check out the LiveGlam review on the Tarte Amazonian Clay tinted moisturizer!
Packaging
Tarte always impresses us with packaging! That’s a given. They have such a clear style and design, and it just happens to be one that I am loving. The bottle that the Tarte tinted moisturizer comes in is simple and functional. The tube is flexible, dispenses product easily, and gives you a little preview of what’s left in there! I like that the wood grain design lid is wide and flat enough to stand upright easily, too. We also love the plastic squeeze bottles for when you get down to the last drops, you can just chop the top off and scoop out every little bit of goodness. We have no critiques here- 5 for packaging.
Performance
If you are a full-coverage kween, you might not be satisfied with the coverage a tinted moisturizer provides. If you wanna let your natural beauty shine thru, then this tinted moisturizer will likely provide the perfect amount of pigment and imperfection blurring for you! I kinda fall somewhere in between the 2. This Tarte tinted moisturizer works as a great standalone product if you’re looking for that light coverage, but also makes a great base to build a full-face. You can use this in place of your primer and add your favorite foundation or concealer over it! You will still get the perfectly dewy and moisturizing effect, which is exactly what we’re here for.
My sparkly-skinned (oily) babes may have a problem with shine as the day progresses. I noticed a bit of shine, mostly in the t-zone area. I don’t have any issues with separation when using this tho! Considering it’s been plastered on my face all winter so far, I have to give it a 4.5 for performance! If I was a less shiny person, it might have even been another perfect 5.
Price
If you shop like I shop, then price is always one of the most important factors! If the price is high, then the performance HAS to be on point. The Tarte Amazonian Clay tinted moisturizer retails $36. When I consider the cost of my foundation, moisturizer, concealer, or primer– it really doesn’t seem all that high to me! (not to mention I snagged it on a Black Friday sale!) If you’re looking for drugstore cost, then this certainly won’t be for you. But as far as high-end products go, the price is very comparable! I’ve been using it daily for 1.5 months and it’s still going strong, so that certainly speaks to value. –4
