Labor day has come and gone, and the end of summer is soon approaching! While we hate to see Summer go, we definitely don’t mind jumping into Fall! In ceremonious honor of this transition, we’re bringing you this fun look to savor the last drops of summer.
This look is inspired by the brightness of summer, with the warm neutrals of fall. We had to get a little creative with it, because, why not! So we added some bright drops of color around the eye and a few rainbow freckles. If you’re interested in how to get this look for yourself, you’re in luck, because that’s what we’re here for.
Start by prepping your skin with your normal daily routine. If you’re searching for the key to flawless makeup for your skin type, check out our skin prep blog! Go ahead and apply your favorite foundation, concealer, highlight, and contour. We used Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation in this look. Along with Makeup For Ever HD Concealer, and Kat Von D Lock-it Concealer in whiteout to get a bright finish. We used ABH Contour palette and Moonchild Glow Kit to finish up the face. We might’ve OD’ed a little on the highlight, but it is (still) summer after all, and it’s never too late to glow up.
So let’s get into the fun stuff!
To get this creative eye look, start with a warm neutral lid. We used Morphe 12NB Palette and blended a warm neutral color above the crease with a fluffy blending brush. To get a little extra with it, add a nice metallic bronzey-gold color to your lid and blend the edges! (to get some oomph out of your metallics, spritz your brush with setting spray or water after you pack it with powder!) This is your transition into fall! Now to savor the bit of summer we have left, we had to bust out some bold colors! Go for a bright yellow/orange under-eye liner, we used Melt Cosmetics Neon and Radon on a small pencil brush/pointed liner brush. You could stop here, pop on a bright lip, and call it a day. But if you know us, then you know we are EXTRA extra.
So if you wanna turn up with us (or if you’re just looking for a good way to hide your pores…), then grab some bright colors and get ready for some rainbow chicken pox….er freckles. To get these bright little specks, we used some bright eyeshadows with a drop of Inglot duraline. (Melt Cosmetics Radioactive Stack with Sugarpill Velocity and Poison Plum.) To mix the 2 while preserving your shadows, you can scrape a bit of pigment onto a palette and mix there! Use a few pointed liner brushes in various sizes to get a “natural” rainbow freckled face. Dab over your new specks of joy with a Beauty Blender to soften them! If you don’t have liner brushes, you can use a bobby pin with a toothpick (gently!), or anything along these lines! Get creative– but try not to stab yourself, please.
After you feel like a scoop of ice cream covered in sprinkles, then you’re ready to drown in setting spray (spray generously!) to keep it in place all day for your grocery run, or some beach time, or date night– all appropriate places to rock your rainbow!
As always– hashtag #LiveGlam on instagram if you’re trying this look out! What are some things you’re gonna miss about summer? Leave us some comments or tweet us! Enjoy your last 2 of fun in the sun before we start bombarding you with all the neutrals, maroons, metallics, and berries of fall. <3
