Glittery Red Nails
When we think of Valentine’s Day, one color always comes up and that’s obviously red. Well, we’ve been loving all the red manis we’ve seen and whilst a classic red is timeless, adding a touch of texture is a fun way to spruce things up. You can go glittery all over with a gorgeous top coat or simply stick with an accent nail, but adding a glitter finish to your red manicure is the perfect nod to the holiday of love.
Hand-drawn Hearts
If you have a steady hand, you may want to experiment with some hand-drawn nail art for the season. Hearts in all shapes and sizes will look gorgeous for Valentine’s Day and you can really experiment with size and color. A small red heart over a nude manicure is a sophisticated and subtle nod to the season, whilst white heart cutouts on a red base is a bold and striking look.
Candy Heart Nails
We all know and love Candy Hearts with their cute messages that you passed over to a crush at school. Why not tell your Valentine that you love them through some carefully crafted Candy Heart nails? Simply paint on your hearts in pastel shades, add some kisses and cute messages and you’re good to go. These look amazing with a matte finish, just like the sweets, so either use a matte polish to begin with or finish off with a mattifying top coat.
A Classic French Manicure
Sometimes it’s best to keep things simple and if you want your Valentine to know just how sophisticated you are, opt for the classic French manicure. This timeless style has been a favorite for generation after generation and whilst you can do these at home, it may be worth paying a visit to your local nail salon to make sure it looks ultra professional. Nothing is worse than a wonky French mani!

These ones are everywhere on Pinterest and it’s not only because they look gorgeous but are ridiculously easy! Just grab your favorite red polish and brush a stroke either side of the tip of your nail to create a heart shape. Pointed and almond-shaped nails look amazing with this look and you don’t even have to stay classic red, this look is amazing in nudes, pinks, and greys too.
Apply Nail Charms
One way to spruce things up for a holiday is to play around with nail charms to transform your manicure. There are plenty out there on eBay and Amazon for Valentine’s Day, starting with classic heart shapes to cute messages and symbols. Place one on your accent nail for a lovely nod to Valentine’s Day.
