The ColourPop x Disney Designer Collection

Girls and boys who live for fairy tales, romance, and all things Disney…listen up, or rather, keep reading.

Colourpop has teamed up with Disney to create a delectable collection inspired by six of their most admirable leading ladies. Jasmine, Cinderella, Belle, Ariel, Tiana, and Snow White appear like we’ve never seen them before…and boy do they look good!

This collection is not a gimmick nor a mere novelty, it’s actually a collection of wearable-yet-fun makeup fit for sensible days and wild nights, all combined with the sheer whimsy and nostalgia of Disney women and worlds.

The collection includes a stunning eyeshadow palette, 6 Creme Lux Lipsticks, 6 Super Shock Shadows, and 3 Ultra Glossy Lips. The lipsticks are all named after and inspired by each princess, and they’ve hit the nail on the head with each one. As a redhead, Ariel’s peachy-nude shade is my favorite on first glance (redheads gotta stick together!), but there are deep reds, bright pinks and muted mauves too.

The palette…oh my, the palette. At first peek it looks rather tame, but when you look close you can see it has so many possibilities for spectacular glam. The overall vibe of the palette is feminine, soft, pinky, mauvey, romantic and a wee bit smokey. What truly made my heart flutter when poring over swatches of this palette was the pale matte shades in the top row. There’s something so soft and flattering about the shades Chip, Juju, and Grumpy. They would make for stunning base shades, crease shades or even just a wash of dreamy color on a light makeup day.

The Supershock individual shadows don’t shy away from brightness, but they also offer the subtler, smokier, champagne and brown shades most of us will never get enough of. Personally, I want to get my hands on “Under The Sea”, a shimmering green with gold popping through. It’s Summer in New Zealand soon, after all!

True to Colourpop form, each item in their Disney Designer Collection is affordable and housed in spectacular packaging. The “It’s a Princess Thing” palette has our six princesses on the front cover, all grown up and dressed in designer threads, drawn in the style of a couturier’s sketch. Beautiful.
