Now that we’re dealing with weather change, our skin tends to become more dry and irritated. Although it’s never fun, there are some really neat and effective home remedies that relieve and soothe your skin instantly. Checkout some of these skin care tips for irritated dry skin.

Coco for Coconut

You can never go wrong with coconut oil. It’s a great moisturizer that does a lot more than just hydrate your skin. Coconut oil provides a barrier to protect the skin. It softens dry, brittle areas and reduces redness. Even someone that struggles with eczema will benefit from using coconut oil.

Oil Up!

Olive oil contains a lot of antioxidants and healthy fatty acids that your skin will love. It soothes and conditions dry skin instantly. You can add a little bit to your face moisturizer or body lotion for more hydration. Try not to use a lot, a little bit goes a long way.

Milk it

Instead of drinking your milk on the daily, try using it as a skin care tip for irritated, dry skin. Milk has anti-inflammatory properties that soothes, dry itchy skin. In addition, the lactic in the milk exfoliates dead skin cells and helps retain moisture. A good skin care tip for irritated, dry skin is to soak a washcloth in cold milk and leave it on your face for about 5-7 minutes. Just wash your face off with lukewarm water after.

A Spoonful of Honey

Honey is known for being the best natural moisturizers, because it’s loaded with antioxidants, antimicrobial, and humectant properties. It really helps lock in moisture to make your skin super soft and smooth. Plus, honey has plenty of essential vitamins and minerals that help improve your skin’s health. Use raw honey and leave it on your skin for about 10 minutes. Use a warm washcloth to wipe it off since it is pretty sticky.

Yummy Yogurt

Not only is yogurt really good for your digestive system, it’s one of the best skin care tips for irritated dry skin. It contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory ingredients that will heal and calm skin. The lactic acid in yogurt helps get rid of any germs or bacteria that can cause dryness or itchiness.
