Have you ever walked through the makeup aisles of a drugstore, or through the grid of makeup counters at a department store and found yourself wondering – what am I looking for? What should I ask when trying to find quality products that I will truly love? Well, beauty lovers, we have the answers for you. Below, we’ve compiled a list of the top things we think you should ask and consider when makeup shopping.
1. How Much Product Is In The Packaging?
It’s unfortunately easy to spend more than $100 dollars on a high-quality makeup brand only to discover that there is little to no product in the actual packaging. Before you buy, ask how much product you are actually getting – in ounces, milliliters, or whatever form of measurement is on the packaging. Knowing whether or not you are getting your money’s worth is key in picking the right product – and making sure your product will last you awhile!
2. What Ingredients Are In This Product?
Before venturing out on a binge makeup haul, ask yourself – do ingredient matter to me when choosing a product? Do I care if the products I choose are meant for oily skin or dry skin, or does it matter to me that all of the ingredients are organic and cruelty free? Whatever matters to you in terms of ingredients, it’s important that you know this info before spending your money!
3. What Type Of Product Do I Want?
Are you looking to carry around one small little product with you everywhere you go in your beauty bag? Or, are you considering buying makeup sets and palettes that will pack a bunch of products into one perfectly wrapped package? Keep your use and type of product in mind when makeup shopping!
Makeup Shopping – What Matters To You
When makeup shopping, it’s key that you answer the questions above yourself. If you don’t know the answers, how can you expect the ladies at the makeup counter to help you out? As a beauty lover, you probably use makeup everyday, which is why taking the time to think about what makes a product special to you is incredibly important in the makeup shopping process. I like that you point out that it is important to know how much of the product you are getting. I can see why it would be frustrating to spend a lot of money for a little amount of product. My mom buys makeup from a local vendor. I'll have to ask her if she asks about this to the rep.

I like that you recommend to know if you want an smaller and easier to carry around product, or if you want something with more options. I can see why this would help you narrow down your list of what you could get. It might also be useful to think about when and where you will be using it. I know that my wife has small sized products in her purse to apply when she's at work.
