If you’re a fan of Glamglow’s GravityMud mask… things just got even more exciting. The skincare company teamed up with My Little Pony for an epic collab, and it involves lots of magic and glitter. Here’s a review of the new #GLITTERMASK inspired by the ponies of Equestria! 🦄
If you love glitter and a firm face, this new Glitter Mask is perfect for you. Basically, it’s Glamglow’s original GravityMud firming treatment mask with some pony power sprinkled into it. This limited-edition peel-off mask comes in 3 sparkly shades – pink, purple, and black, based on the iconic My Little Pony you identify with the most.
I went with my girl Pinkie Pie and got the pink mask. These retail for $59 for 1.7 fl oz of product. According to Glamglow, the ingredients in the mask such as the TEAOXI® Complex of Licorice and Marshmallow Leaf help make your skin feel firmer and look more defined after just one use. So I put it to the test!
Application
Application is very simple! It comes with a mini silicone paddle brush to apply a thin layer of the mask all over your face, and you let it sit until it’s dry. The drying time depends on how much you apply, so if you’re in a rush, be sure to apply a thin layer! However, if you’re trying to take cute selfies, I would apply more to really get the full effect.
The glitter is also a super cool feature. It’s really fun to apply and watch your face sparkle for 20 minutes. One thing I did notice during the application was the smell of the mask, which I’m personally not a huge fan of. I usually love the smell of Glamglow masks (ThirstyMud, omg), but this one smelled a little too artificial for my taste (it may be because of the glitter).
Results
As the mask dries, your face will start to feel very tight and a little tingly. I left it on for about 15 minutes until it was completely dry. Next came the peeling part… which I must admit scares me whenever I try a new mask. I’ve seen some pretty scarring videos of people in agonizing pain as they’re peeling face masks off, but luckily that wasn’t the case here. This mask is super easy to peel off and doesn’t hurt at all! It’s not sticky and is easy to grab. Just be sure to work from the top of your forehead and peel downwards.
In terms of the firming aspect, I did notice that my face felt and looked slightly more firm after one use. However, these are definitely not permanent results and is only a subtle quick fix. With that being said, I’d recommend using this mask before a special occasion, photo shoot, or night out to add a little more definition to your face!
Overall, this is a very fun mask and perfect for a girls’ night in. While I prefer Glamglow’s other masks to actually benefit my skin, I’m definitely a fan of using this every once in a while and for a fun gimmick. I don’t think this mask is a necessity in one’s skincare routine, but if you’re a fan of My Little Pony and glitter, you may want to consider copping before they’re gone!
