Just as we switch up our local coffee shop order from iced coffee to pumpkin spiced latte with an extra shot of caramel syrup, our makeup bags need a little help getting in to the spirit of the Fall season! So, as the shorter, colder nights draw in, and we swap our mojitos by the beach for Netflix and hot chocolate by the fire, we’re sharing a few easy ways to get your makeup looking on fleek for Fall…
1. Add in a couple of deep lip colours
It wouldn’t be right to talk about fall makeup without mentioning the liquid lippies that were featured in our LiveGlam Lippie Club, KissMe October collection, would it? All three shades scream fall, and are perfect for all skin tones! ‘Vixen’, a deep plum purple shade, is so rich, dark and really opaque, which is a difficult thing to come by with darker liquid lipstick shades. As a deeper, warmer shade of the classic siren red lip, ‘Poisoned Apple’ is perfect for this time of year. Liquid lipsticks can be a little intimidating in the colder months as they can be drying, but this formula really is so comfortable on the lips and don’t leave them feeling dry or cakey. For something a little different, or if you fancy something with a bit more sheen, ‘Magic’ is a beautiful coral metallic gloss with golden reflects that totes reminds us of pumpkins. It looks beautiful on its own, but also works so well as a lip topper when applied over both Vixen and Poisoned Apple.
2. Use richer tones on the eyes
Fall is the perfect season for experimenting with smokier shades, warm-toned hues and vampy colors on the lids, so try swapping your pastels and neutrals for deeper, darker shades! Warm coppers and plummy tones work so well at this time of year, and pair well with a dark lip. If you’re not quite that confident in the smoky eye department just yet, try using tape under the outer corner of your eyes to create a guideline and ensure that you get a nice, clean line!
3. Use warmer, mauve-toned blushes
Our skin can have the tendency of looking a little dull and lifeless at this time of the year, and so using a mauve-toned, warm blush can help to warm the complexion up slightly and help things to look more…well, alive. It can be difficult to know what makeup to pair with a darker lip, but neutral blush shades with mauve undertones will complement a bolder lip or a smoky eye!
