While we long to be able to stroll down the aisles of Ulta, Target and Bath + Body Works and render ourselves bankrupt in the process, we do have some real gems here across the pond and brands that we’re proud to call our own. Here are just four of our faves that we think are worth getting excited about…
Liz Earle
We like to think of Liz as the lady who thankfully, got us talking seriously about cleansing and cleansing properly. Her Cleanse & Polish cream cleanser is a cult-classic, but nothing within her carefully curated range fails to impress. As you can imagine from a line of products made from botanical ingredients, everything smells…well, lush. Kind of like you’re walking through a meadow in the middle of summer – what’s not to love?
Barry M
When you think of affordable colour cosmetics as a Brit, you think of Barry M. We all have at least one of their famous nail polishes in our collection and for many of us Brits, they’re our first port of call if we want to have a bit of fun with our makeup. For parties, festivals or for Insta-worthy glam makeup, their dazzle dusts are also great!
Real Techniques
This brand is the brainchild of two makeup artists who we’ve known, loved and watched through YouTube for years. ‘Pixiwoo’ AKA Sam and Nic Chapman gave us the first really high-quality brushes at an affordable price point and have since gone on to create more brushes and tools that all deliver on the quality front. And best of all – they still upload on their YouTube channel. Their Buffing Brush is our OG, but we also love their newer beauty sponge that really is just as good as the original (and hella more expensive) Beauty Blender.
Charlotte Tilbury
As one of the world’s most in-demand makeup artists, it’s really no surprise to any of us that Charlotte Tilbury knows what she’s doing when it comes to makeup. Her classic Hollywood-esque packaging is as ‘fabulous, darling’ (sorry, Charlotte) as her formulations; from her primers to her lipsticks and eyeshadows, you’re guaranteed to feel your absolute best after using a product from her range. CT skincare is just as covetable as her makeup, but with more eye-wateringly high price tags – definitely worth the investment if you’re in the market for VS style glowy makeup, though.
