If you mentally journey back to this morning, how long did it take for you to do your makeup? 20 minutes? With the average makeup routine taking far longer than it used to thanks to additional steps being added over the years (we’re thinking contouring, strobing and having to physically get up and dampen our beauty blenders), steps to cut down our routine are needed more than ever. And besides, we could all do with an extra 15 minutes in bed, right?
Lay your products out the night before – Is there anything more frustrating than watching the clock tick far too quickly with one eye while searching for your mascara, which just happens to perform a disappearing act every time you need it? To save you from rooting around in your makeup bag to find ‘X’, ‘Y’ and ‘Z’ product, take a couple of minutes the night before the morning ahead to lay your products on your dresser.
Use skincare-makeup hybrids – Using makeup products that offer skincare benefits is a sure-fire way of cutting down both your product arsenal and time. For longevity and moisturising benefits, think hydrating primers, and rather than using a separate SPF, foundation and moisturiser, opt for a tinted moisturiser to get all three benefits in one formula!
Use liquid lipstick as a cream blush – To inject some much-needed colour into our complexion in the morning, a little blush goes a long way. To save time and reap the benefits of multi-purpose products, try applying your liquid lipstick on the apples of your cheeks and quickly blending in with your fingers. As liquid lipstick formulas are designed to set and be long-lasting, your blush will stick around all day, and your makeup look will tie together nicely, too!
For this, we recommend our LiveGlam KissMe lippies! Each month you get 3 new shades delivered straight to your door for just $19.99. You’ll absolutely love the formula and delicious smell. Check it out here!
Use cream shadow – Being faced with a 35-pan eyeshadow palette when you have 10 minutes before you need to lock your front door behind you can be a little intimidating. Realistically, us working gals just don’t have the time to be concerning ourselves with inner corner highlights, transition shades and outer corner colours, so try opting for a cream shadow. Not only do they take 0.5 seconds to apply, but they quite often have a duo-chrome effect, which ultimately makes it look as though more shades (and more time) have been used.
