After Fenty Beauty’s highly successful launch that featured 40 foundation shades for women of all skin tones back in September, other brands seem to have finally caught on. Today, Kylie Cosmetics dropped 30 concealer shades ranging from fair to deep dark, adding to the much needed movement of inclusivity in the beauty industry.
Last week, Kylie announced on her Snapchat and Instagram that she was dropping new products for the holidays with lots of teasers and swatches. These products include the “Silver Series” lipsticks, brushes, and skin concealers, which all come in new silver packaging.
Arguably, the most anticipated drop out of this collection is the concealers, which is said to be a “lightweight formula that provides medium buildable coverage for a skin-like finish,” on the Kylie Cosmetics website. It’s supposed to be long-wearing, ideal for all skin types, and perfect for spot concealing and highlighting. The 30 shades have peach, pink, red, or yellow undertones depending on the color, and have a paddle applicator to minimize waste.
Kylie’s new concealers cost $20, which is less than other popular concealers such as Tarte Shape Tape ($27) or the Nars Creamy Concealer ($30). Whether Kylie’s formula is up to par with these high end concealers remains to be seen, but the wide shade range is definitely a plus!
If you want to get an idea of what the formula is like before purchasing, Nicole Concilio did a full review of the concealers and brushes on her YouTube channel. Check it out below:
With her new launch, Kylie also announced the “Kylie Truck”. The big pink truck is bringing Kylie Cosmetics products to locations around Los Angeles all throughout December, including her new concealers and Naughty and Nice palettes. So far, it’s been to The Grove, The Commons at Calabasas, and Saks Beverly Hills. The next stop hasn’t been announced yet, so if you’re in LA and want to get the chance to swatch and purchase her concealers, follow @KylieTruck on Instagram to see where it’ll be next!
