You know when you have the best intentions of waking up an hour before you need to leave your front door, but actually end up pressing the snooze button one too many times, and end up scurrying around trying to make yourself look presentable in a mere ten minutes? Yeah, us too.
Although the idea of spending our mornings leisurely making a nutritious breakfast and prancing around in our bathrooms perfecting our hair and makeup is all very lovely, sometimes it just doesn’t work out that way. Luckily, we have a few tried and tested tricks for when our “I’ll just close my eyes for a few more minutes” doesn’t quite pan out…
1. Dry shampoo-texturizing spray hybrids are your BFF
We really can’t imagine how terrible life must have been PDSE (pre-dry shampoo era), because we now rely on it as a daily essential. Washing your hair on the daily really isn’t great for maintaining its condition, as it strips away the natural oils that help to protect and naturally condition it. So for those of us with oily roots, dry shampoo really is our BFF. Aside from saving you the bother of washing and drying your hair by soaking up any excess grease, dry shampoos that offer texturizing spray abilities are amazing for volumizing the hair and adding a bit of oomph and texture to an otherwise very lacklustre and flat head of hair in the mornings.
2. Use a BB cream
The beauty of beauty balms (excuse the pun) is that they work as a three-in-one product. Unlike a foundation, which requires precision blending, and only really offers coverage, BB creams offer a nice, natural amount of coverage, sun protection factor, and moisturising properties.
3. Multi-task with your liquid lipstick, and use as a cream blush
This one sounds slightly barmy, but trust us. Using the same shade for your blush and lipstick tie your look together and look perfectly suited, and will stay around for the entirety of your day thanks to the long-lasting formula. Our KissMe liquid lippies from our LiveGlam Lippie Club are perfect for this as the creamy formula makes them easy to blend on the cheeks!
4. Use an in-shower moisturiser
Stepping out of a warm shower and moisturising your whole body in the cold and then waiting an age for it to sink in isn’t all that appealing in the winter, is it? Luckily, there are so many amazing shower creams that cleanse as well as deeply nourish and moisturise the skin out there, that require no extra effort whatsoever. Genius!
5. Spritz with a facial spray
As much as we love baking and cooking our foundation in preparation for a night out, fiddling around with messy loose setting powders when we’re short on time just isn’t going to happen. A facial spray, however, takes approximately 5 seconds to use, and helps to set your makeup while also reviving your complexion and leaving you looking a little more awake and less like you woke up around 15 minutes ago.
Are you guilty of leaving little to no time to properly get ready in the mornings? Will you be trying out any of these tricks tomorrow morning? Let us know!
