4 Ways to Use Makeup Highlighter!
A healthy glowing complexion is huge this summer, but honestly, it’s been huge for a while! The brighter, dewy complexion was initially introduced to us as a refreshing break from the matte complexion we were accustomed to seeing all over the place. But over time, the glowing skin trend has only gotten bigger and better – and we’re loving it!
The great thing about highlighter is how incredibly versatile it is. Not sure what you can do with highlighter? Here are 5 ways to incorporate highlighter into your makeup routine!
1. DIY dewy foundation
Looking for a simple way to achieve the ultimate gorgeous glow? You know… when your glowing skin just lights up the room and it looks like it comes from within.
Forget about spending a ton of money on illuminating drops or illuminating primer because you can achieve the same look with a little DIY.
To illuminate your entire complexion with subtle iridescence, all you need to do is mix a couple of drops of liquid highlighter into your liquid foundation to make your own DIY dewy foundation!
2. Sparkly eyeshadow
Need some pretty eyeshadow inspo for the summertime?
Prepare to be dazzled away by stunning variations of a sparkly eyelid! For an ultra-glam type of look, pack on the sparkle over your entire lid up until the crease, or you could even use a highlighter with tons of glitter to line your eyes.
For a more natural look, gently sweep a powder highlighter over your entire lid to create a dewy wide-eyed effect. You can even use your fingers to gently apply liquid highlighter onto your lids with a dabbing technique.
To amp up the intensity, wet your finger before dipping it into your powder highlighter for bolder sparkle payoff!
3. Enhance your collar bones
For an all-around gorgeous glow, you can’t forget about bringing the glow to your collar bones! To enhance your collar bone area, apply dots of liquid highlighter onto the more prominent points of your bone structure, then use a more precise brush to blend it out.
To take your body glow situation up a notch, extend the highlighter over to the highest point of your shoulders and then take it down the side of your upper arms.
4. Make your lips look fuller
A natural way to achieve a more luscious pout? With a quick dabbing motion, use your finger to apply a generous amount of highlighter (liquid or powder works!) onto your cupid’s bow and pull the excess product onto the center of your top lip before applying your lip products!
