How To Choose The Right Pair of Faux Eyelashes

Posted by LiveGlam on Sep 13, 2022

The shape of your peepers 1) determines how your eyeshadow will look, 2) it definitely affects the direction of your winged liner 🥴, and 3) it can either emphasize or distract from your falsies.

Before we jump into the world of eye shapes, can we just appreciate our gorgeous, gorgeous lashes?

Our lashes are:

  • Vegan
  • Cruelty-Free
  • 100% Faux Mink
  • Lightweight & Comfortable
  • Pure Handmade
  • Long-lasting Curve

Your eyes deserve to be a show-stopping spectacle, girlfran! So, find your shape below and let’s get these winkers looking their best!

For the most part, your eye shape will fall into one of the following shapes:

1) Almond

2) Round

3) Monolid

4) Hooded

5) Downturned

6) Upturned

Almond

Totally not trying to take the mystery out of a name, but almond eyes have the shape of…an almond. This eye shape is symmetrical (lucky you!), so really any lash style is complimentary for almond eyes.

To get you started on your journey of lashes, check out these styles below:

  • Trust Fund: which features a full and luscious look.
  • InstaGlam: if you are opting for a more flared approach.
  • Well-Off: if you want to add length and volume to your eyes.

Round

If you have a round shape, you probably noticed you can see more white space in your eyes. This is because there is more circumference to your eye shape, so the white of your eyes fills in a bit more space…but less science and more beauty talk 🤣. Those with round-shaped eyes prefer a more “lifted” look – to achieve this, we suggest our So Ka-ute lashes.

Monolid

There is often confusion between monolid and hooded eye shapes – monolid simply means the crease of your eye is more flat than other eye shapes. The key to great looking lashes on monolid eyes is curl, curl, curl! Did you know you can use an eyelash curler on your falsies? We recommend using our Eye Candy lashes, and don’t forget to curl!

Hooded

On hooded eyes, your lid is hidden under the “hood” AKA: the top part of your eye. Using a lash style that is more pronounced opens up your eye, try our Boss Babe lashes. This charming eye shape also does really well with a curled look, so don’t be afraid to swipe on some mascara and put your eyelash curler to use!

Downturned

If the outer corners of your eyes turn downward, then you are rocking a lovely downturned eye shape. Typically, having more linear eyes suits a lot of makeup looks. If this is what you are going for, we recommend our Suite Dreams lashes, which offers a flared style.

Upturned

Upturned eyes are opposite of downturned eyes, in that the outer corners of your beautiful eyes are lifted upward! For a more feathery-styled look, try our Make It Rain lashes and rock those falsies 😉.

Hold on, Honey: Let’s take a minute to say that all of these recommendations are just that…recommendations based on what is known to compliment eye shapes. But here at LiveGlam, we believe that you should wear what makes YOU feel good – ultimately, that’s what matters most!

Now that you know which style suits you best, the next step is how to apply lashes.
