Our Top TSA Approved Beauty Products

We all know that dreadful moment when you’re going through airport security and your bag gets put to the side during the screening process. No matter how much you beg TSA, your precious beauty products that don’t meet the fluid ounce requirements still end up getting tossed. Want to avoid that? Here are our top 5 beauty products to bring on your flight without having to worry!

Let’s start with the guidelines.

TSA Liquids Rule:

According to the TSA website, “You are allowed to bring a quart-sized bag of liquids, aerosols, gels, creams, and pastes in your carry-on bag and through the checkpoint. These are limited to travel-sized containers that are 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less per item.”

Meeting these requirements can be tough. Luckily, finding makeup that is TSA approved is pretty easy since most foundation bottles are around 1 ounce (30 mL), and concealers 6-7 mL. But what about our skincare and haircare products? Here are our suggestions!

1. Face

Not only do we not want to skip the skincare routines we’ve worked so hard to stick to while traveling, but being on an airplane can often take a toll on your skin too. The good news is you can find a ton of travel skincare kits at beauty stores like Ulta and Sephora that have everything you need to keep your skin clear and glowing!

Two of our favorites are the Clean Getaway Skin Clarifying Travel Kit ($9.99), which comes with a daily cleanser, makeup wipes, a peel mask, and a deep pore cleanser for a super affordable price! For a more high-end option, the Dermalogica Normal/Oily Skin Regimen Kit ($39) comes with a cleansing gel, toner, face scrub, moisturizer, and eye brightener to keep your skin balanced and hydrated throughout your travels.

Travel Skincare Products

Idk about you, but setting spray is a must-have for us! You can use it to give your skin a refresh, as well as to set your makeup and keep it looking fire for those spicy vacation pics. Our favorite travel-friendly setting sprays include the Urban Decay All Nighter Long Lasting Makeup Setting Spray ($15), and the Mario Badescu Facial Spray ($5).

2. Body

Hotel lotion tends to be watery and underwhelming, so here’s a great travel-friendly alternative.  We love the Glow Body Travel Kit ($22) from Pixi Beauty, which comes with a glycolic body wash, body peel, and body lotion to keep your whole body looking on point and moisturized! The glycolic acid in these products also helps improve the appearance of your skin texture and tone.

3. Hair

Bringing haircare products on the plane can be a challenge, especially if you have curly hair and need multiple creams and gels to tame everything. We all know hotel shampoo and conditioner isn’t the best… so having these travel-sized kits are a must!

The It’s A 10 Miracle Leave-In ($12.99) is a cult favorite and for good reason! It does everything from adding shine, controlling frizz, detangling, protects your hair from heat, and more. Basically, it has everything you’d need in a hair product, and it comes in a handy travel size!

To top it off, grab the Chi Protect and Hold On The Go Styling Kit ($24) to get a quality travel-sized shampoo, conditioner, hair spray, and serum to keep your hair silky smooth.

For curly hair, the DevaCurl Curls on the Go Kit ($30) is a great option! It comes with a shampoo, conditioner, styling cream, and defining gel to keep those curls poppin’ at all times.

4. Perfume

Can’t go without your favorite perfume? We can relate. Luckily rollerballs and travel sprays exist! If your signature scent doesn’t come in travel size or it’s sold out, you can also pump some in these handy mini refillable perfume spray bottles from Amazon! It’s super easy to fill and use these with no leakage.

5. Eyeshadow palette

Being on vacation is the perfect time to experiment with fun eyeshadow lewks, so don’t take off without our LiveGlam ShadowMe Flocking Fabulous palette ($19.99 as a member)! This palette has every shade you need to blend up a masterpiece for any occasion. Whether you want a more neutral look or wanna pop out for a night, these shades have got you covered for all of your travel needs! Learn more about our bi-monthly LiveGlam Eyeshadow Club here
