Curling hair is one of those beauty rituals that most girls either totally love or totally hate. For some, curling hair comes naturally and with little to no effort they achieve salon level waves in the time it takes the rest of us to blink. We fall into that category of curl-lovers who just can’t seem to figure out how to curl hair without it taking up our entire morning. So, we decided to research a few tips and tricks to help you get those cascading waves in half the time.
1. Create No Heat Curls Using A Sock Bun
If you hate using curling ones, this is going to become your new go-to method of how to curl hair. Youtuber Emily Liu will show you an awesome way to create a quick sock bun in under 5 minutes. Just sleep on it and wake up the next morning with beautiful, full curls.
2. Create French Braid Curls
This is one of those party hairstyles that will have you looking head to toe glam in just a few minutes. Simply wash your hair, or get it a little wet, and create a French braid as you usually would while your hair is still damp. Here are two quick hairstyling tips to make that perfect braid – one: the messier the braid, the better, and two: the looser the braid, the bigger the waves! Once you’ve got your braid, spritz on some hairspray and run a blow dryer over your head for just a few minutes. Undo the braid, and ta-dah! Instant beachy waves.
3. Use A Ponytail To Speed Things Up
Wondering how to curl hair with an actual styling wand? If you love the fuller, more refined curls a heat wand can give you but just don’t have the time to spend going through each strand, try out the ponytail trick, as demonstrated by Youtuber Emily Canham. Tie up your hair in a ponytail, and only curl thick strands in the pony tail. The result will take you a few minutes and you’ll get a more distinctive hairstyle.
4. Do The Twist
Curled hairstyles are often party hairstyles. This means that you want to make sure you create a look that will last you all night without causing too much fuss. If you’re still set on using a heat styling wand to get those awesome curls, try using a straightener and a few simple hair twists. Just talk a chunk of your hair and twist it, as if you were ringing out the water in a towel, and while it’s in the twist run a straightener over it a few times. Before letting go, add a little hairspray on top. That’s it! Just a few twists, a quick slide, and you’ve got your dance-floor ready look!
How To Curl Hair Super Fast? Skip The Heat!
Okay, so we know that two of the above methods use styling wands that run on heat. At the end of the day, getting lasting curls can be a super fast process if you just ditch the heat. Using braids and sleeping on them will take as little effort as possible on your part to achieve waves or curls. They’ll also be better for your hair in the long run – especially if you are a hair color fiend.
