My skin has been disgusting lately. Changing weather has never been good for pores, and it’s around this time (the slow transition from Winter to Spring) that I end up seeing tons of blackheads pop up on my face. I usually have clear skin, but sometimes, you just can’t stop a dirty pore from rearing it’s ugly -black-head. So, what can you do to get rid of blackheads for good? 2. Mask It Up

Who doesn’t love face masks? They are relaxing and can be super beneficial to your skin, and they are really great when you’re looking to get rid of blemishes. If your goal is achieving clear skin, using a weekly face mask could help you with those nasty blackheads while also refreshing your skin as a whole. Egg whites have been known to tighten up pores and get rid of blemishes quickly, and an egg face mask is as easy as cracking the eggs and applying the whites to your face. Wash off when done to reveal smoother, happier skin! For other awesome masks to help you in your ultimate skincare quest, try out a few of these delicious natural masks.

3. Tea Tree Oil

If you’re a lover of natural beauty like we are, you are going to love tea tree oil. Using tea tree oil to get rid of blemishes is one of our favorite beauty tips because it is so easy to do, and is so good for your skin. Tea tree is known to be a great antibacterial essential oil, and blackheads are not a fan of this potent remedy. Simply take a drop or two of tree tree and mix with a few drops of filtered water to dilute, and then spot treat your blemishes. No need to wash the oil off, just leave it on and let your skin soak in the natural aid.

4. Steam Your Face

When I was a kid, my mom would always tell me to steam my face if I wanted to get rid of blackheads. The steam can open up your pores and can help gunk melt out of and off of your face. To do this, fill a pot with a little bit of water and put it on the stove on high. Wait for it to steam, and then turn off the stove and remove from heat. Grab a towel and place it behind your head, and hover over the steam. Make sure your face is a good distance away from the hot pot, and make sure you take breaks every few minutes to get some air. Steam for about five minutes and then try a face mask to give those blackheads a 1, 2 – punch!
