My skin has been disgusting lately. Changing weather has never been good for pores, and it’s around this time (the slow transition from Winter to Spring) that I end up seeing tons of blackheads pop up on my face. I usually have clear skin, but sometimes, you just can’t stop a dirty pore from rearing it’s ugly -black-head. So, what can you do to get rid of blackheads for good? We’ve compiled a list of our favorite tips to help us all deal with these annoying little blemishes.

1. Hydrate Your Skin

Hydration is key! No matter what your skin type is, making sure your skin is properly hydrated and healthy will make a big difference in the how effective your blackhead treatments are. 3. Tea Tree Oil

If you’re a lover of natural beauty like we are, you are going to love tea tree oil. Using tea tree oil to get rid of blemishes is one of our favorite beauty tips because it is so easy to do, and is so good for your skin. Tea tree is known to be a great antibacterial essential oil, and blackheads are not a fan of this potent remedy. Simply take a drop or two of tree tree and mix with a few drops of filtered water to dilute, and then spot treat your blemishes. No need to wash the oil off, just leave it on and let your skin soak in the natural aid.

4. Steam Your Face

When I was a kid, my mom would always tell me to steam my face if I wanted to get rid of blackheads. The steam can open up your pores and can help gunk melt out of and off of your face. To do this, fill a pot with a little bit of water and put it on the stove on high. Wait for it to steam, and then turn off the stove and remove from heat. Grab a towel and place it behind your head, and hover over the steam. Make sure your face is a good distance away from the hot pot, and make sure you take breaks every few minutes to get some air. Steam for about five minutes and then try a face mask to give those blackheads a 1, 2 – punch!

Regular hydration, eating a clean and healthy diet, and taking care of unwanted blemishes and skin concerns as they arise are all essential parts of maintaining beautiful skin.
