How Face Mapping Can Help Prevent Breakouts

Posted by Lanie Edwards on Jun 19, 2018

Ever notice when you eat junk food or drink soda a pimple always pops up in the same spot? Like, that pimple will always be there for you if you give in to your sweet tooth… #RelationshipGoals. Turns out this isn’t just a coincidence. By referring to the Ancient Chinese concept of Face Mapping, you can figure out what causes acne flares in specific locations, and how to get rid of them!

The main principle behind Chinese Face Mapping is that everything in the body is interconnected. Basically, everything happening on the outside is a direct reflection of what’s happening on the inside. Since our skin is the largest organ, it’s super evident when things aren’t quite right with our internal organs!

So, by using the Face Mapping technique, you can figure out what might be causing your breakouts and how to treat them. Unfortunately, that might mean laying off the donuts and sugary drinks. Here’s 5 examples to get you started!

1. Forehead

If you’re constantly breaking out on your forehead, this is tied to your bladder and intestines. If you’ve been stressing a lot, sweating at the gym, have an irregular sleep schedule or digestive problems, it’s time to take a step back and treat yo self in order to clear up those unwanted pimples!

2. Nose

If your nose is starting to look like a planet, check in with your heart. ❤ Make sure your blood pressure and circulation is in tact! Also watch your salt intake and diet. Fresh air, clean eating, and more exercise is key!

3. Cheeks

Your cheeks and the organs they’re connected to are actually separate. The right cheek can break out due to respiratory issues, and the left one can be due to your liver, so they shouldn’t be treated equally!

If you’re having trouble with your right cheek, this could be due to too much sugar, allergies, or dirty pillow cases and phones. Make sure to change your pillow cases and sheets frequently, clean off your phone screen, and use a toxin free laundry detergent.

If you’re struggling with the left, check your diet! Have you been overeating lately? Have you been getting your nutrients? Watch out for junk food and be sure to drink lots of water (with lemon is a plus!).

4. Chin

For me, I find that pretty much right after I eat fast food or take one too many sips of soda, I break out on my chin. That’s because it’s connected to your stomach, kidney and reproductive organs. If you’ve been eating a lot of greasy foods, not properly hydrating your body, or having hormonal problems, you’ll likely see some “friends” on your chin that plan to stick around for a while unless you change things up.

5. Between the Brows

I remember having the peskiest pimple in the middle of my eyebrows for the longest, and this also happened to be the week of my spring break in college. Spring break usually equates to lots of alcohol (always drink responsibly, glammers!). With skin mapping, it all makes sense. Being dehydrated and consuming too much alcohol and greasy foods will land you a blemish right in the middle of your face for all to see! Is it a sign to get our lives together? Probably.
