Glow Up with GlamGlow? Skincare Review!

Posted by Lanie Edwards on Oct 02, 2017

What goes hand-in-hand with flawless makeup? A bomb, consistent skincare routine! Time to get your glow on, glammers!

While it can take a lot of trial and error to develop your perfect skincare routine, I think I might have finally discovered the right one for me (and possibly you). Best known for their popular mud masks, Glamglow released 3 new skincare products and guess who got their hands on them? This girl, who desperately needed a new routine.

Check out this video to see the products in action!

The new products, now available at Sephora, include the Bubblesheet Mask, Galacticleanse, and Supercleanse. All 3 of them make you feel like you’re in some futuristic world when applying. Now, let’s get down to business!

Bubblesheet Oxygenating Deep Cleanse Mask – $9

Let’s start with this crazy looking thing that you’ve probably seen all over Instagram. This mask is a weekly bubble detox that removes dirt, excess oil, and makeup buildup. It’s also supposed to help get rid of uneven texture and skin dullness!

First of all, using this mask is super fun and would be great for a girls night in. It’s a carbonated, fizzy foam mask with a black bamboo charcoal sheet. You leave it on for 3 minutes while it starts to fizz up before your very eyes and forms BUBBLES. Honestly, it kind of makes you look like Chewbacca from Star Wars, but those 3 minutes of looking like a wild creature is worth it. After taking the mask off and massaging the bubbles into my skin, it made it feel extremely soft, removed all of my makeup and oil, and reduced the appearance of my pores. My skin also did not feel dry or tight afterwards.

This mask is $9 and only comes with one, so it’s definitely on the pricer side for a weekly treatment. However, if it works for you like it worked for me, you might find a way to sneak it into your monthly budget.

Galacticleanse Hydrating Jelly Balm Cleanser – $36

You guys, this cleanser smells SO good. Like an orange creamsicle. It also has meteorite powder and sparkles in it, making you feel like you’re floating in a galaxy and staring at the stars. The cleanser starts as a jelly consistency that you actually apply to your dry face. After adding some water, it turns into a milky consistency that melts away your face makeup. Don’t worry, the sparkles turn clear once they hit your face.

While this cleanser is great at removing face makeup and made my skin feel hydrated, I would not recommend using it to remove eye makeup. It doesn’t favor breaking down mascara and eyeliner, so I use this as a primary cleanser before applying the Bubblesheet mask or a secondary cleanser instead. It’s non-irritating, gentle, and doesn’t cause breakouts. However, don’t depend on it as your only cleanser!

Supercleanse Clearing Cream-to-Foam Cleanser – $32

Lastly, we’ve got my favorite product. The Supercleanse has a blend of three charcoals: bamboo, coconut, and urbane wood, to detoxify skin and remove excess oil and face makeup. While it doesn’t smell as delicious as the Galacticleanse, this is my new go-to cleanser for removing all makeup, oil, and dirt.

The creamy cleanser transforms into a foam that feels very gentle on the skin. After rinsing, I immediately noticed that it reduced the appearance of my pores and made my skin refined and smooth like a doll. After a week of using this cleanser on a daily basis, blackheads on my nose disappeared and the bumpy skin on my forehead had diminished.

If I had to choose 1 product out of these 3, it would definitely be the Supercleanse. It can be used by itself and gets the job done with minimal effort. However, if you have dry skin, I would recommend using a moisturizer after rinsing this off!

All of these GlamGlow products are now available at Sephora or on their website. If you’re looking for a new skincare routine and want to feel modern and trendy, I definitely recommend grabbing a sample from Sephora and trying these out! Everyone’s skin is different, so results will always vary.
