Is anyone else going crazy for the release of Suicide Squad on Friday?! We are on the edge of our seats waiting for this premiere! So excited, we had to do a little teaser-look, a glammed-out “wearable” Joker themed makeup by our babe @WesleyBenjaminCarter. We’re even gonna break his look down in a step-by-step tutorial so you can Squad up to theater this weekend!

Eye Products:

Eyeshadows: Morphe | 35C Palette
Eyeshadows: Morphe | 35N Palette
Inner Corner/Brow Highlight: Makeup Geek | Shimma Shimma
Lashes: NYX | Wicked Lashes – Fatale
Eyeliner: Makeup Forever Flash Palette – Green & Morphe | 35C Palette
Brows: NYX | Eyebrow Gel – Brunette

Introduce a little anarchy

Since we’re bringing drama with the eyes in this look, it’s best to start there! Go ahead and get those babies prepped (good eye primers to try: MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot, Too Faced Shadow Insurance, Nyx Eyeshadow Base). Start the eyes off with a soft yellow shade from lash line to brow bone using a firm blending brush. (Morphe 35C Palette) With a flat brush, pack some Magenta onto your lid and into your crease (Morphe 35C Palette) then blend it out above your crease with a fluffy blending brush. Blend, blend, blend until you start to feel as crazy as our inspo.

Now grab a pencil brush and some dark plum (Morphe 35N Palette) and dab the color into the outer corners. Using the same fluffy blending brush, blend it all together! (moral of this story: blend) Repeat this step until you get the outer corner as dark and smokey as your inner psycho. Once you get your eyes snatched, go ahead and clean up all that fallout with a wipe (if you’re not making a mess, you’re not living).

Face Products:

Foundation: Smashbox | Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Hydrating Foundation
Highlight/Concealer: Morphe | 15CON Palette
Highlight Setting Powder: Morphe | 06PC Palette
Contour: Morphe | 06PW Palette
Highlighter: NYX | Strobe of Genius Illuminating Palette
Blush: Sigma | Cor-de-rosa Single Blush
Lips: NYX | Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick – Kitten Heels

Give a man a mask and he’ll become his true self.

Start on getting that face fleeky by dabbing your favorite foundation (Wesley is using Smashbox Studio Skin) all over your face and blending it in with a flat/angled buffing brush. If you already have a foundation routine that works best for you, feel free to just substitute this step out with that (we’re not gonna tell ya how to live your lives!) Next you want to conceal/highlight your under eye with a flat foundation brush (Morphe 15CON Palette) and blend. Now you can set all that creaminess with a powder (Morphe 06PC Palette). Opt for a light shade under the eye, and if you wanna set the rest of your face, choose something that matches your skin tone.

We’re gonna bounce from eyes to face finishing this look up! So grab the same manic Magenta shade (Morphe 35C Palette) and a pencil brush to get some color on your bottom lash line, blending it into the shadows you have on the top. Grab the same firm blending brush you used to apply your soft yellow base and blend out all your edges EVEN MORE! (I know you’re seeing this pattern) Using a clean pointed pencil brush, pop some highlight on your inner corner/browbone (Makeup Geek Shimma Shimma).

Back to face now, grab yourself a large, firm, domed brush to apply (and, you guessed it, blend!) your contour under your cheekbones and on your forehead (Morphe 06PW Palette). Using the same palette and a fluffy eyeshadow brush, lightly contour your nose, under your lip (for a fuller pout!) and the dip in your cupid’s bow. Get a small tapered fluffy face brush and pop some highlight (NYX Strobe of Genius) in above your contour, blend (blend, blend) to get soft transitions.

I can’t wait to show you my toys…

Now you can go ahead and fill your brows with an angled brush and some eyebrow gel or pomade (Nyx Eyebrow Gel). Use a flat concealer brush and your concealer/foundation (something that matches your skin tone!) to clean the edges of your brows and get them sharp enough to slay. With a fluffy domed brush and slide some blush (Sigma Cor-de-Rosa) in between your highlight and contour. This will really blend (our favorite word!) your contour and highlight together to get a seamless transition.

Now, to finish off this dark and mysterious masterpiece, you need to up the ante with some green wings! So grab a green liquid or cream liner (MUFE Flash Palette for this look) and your favorite liner brush and wing those babies out. Wesley adds some green eyeshadow (Morphe 35C Palette) on top to set the color and add pigmentation. Now that you have your eyes looking more dramatic than a group of supervillains, grab your favorite lashes to finish them off! (Nyx Wicked Lashes). You’ll need a bright red lipstick to really get those Joker vibes (Nyx Liquid Suede) and don’t forget your green hair! (any halloween store ever).

One last step for you– pose. And don’t forget to take a selfie! If you decide to give this look a try, shoot it to us in a tweet or use #LiveGlam on instagram.
